Kids’ Turn San Diego joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on June 4th, 2016. Kids’ Turn San Diego is a non-profit organization that was established in 1996 with a mission to “promote, support and secure the well-being of children who are experiencing the challenges of family separation."
Kids’ Turn San Diego offers various specially designed programs facilitated by trained and experienced mental health professionals and credentialed teachers for never married, separated and divorced families, step-parents and children and families experiencing military related transitions.
Kids’ Turn San Diego empowers children to voice their concerns and opinions, and to have constructive dialogues with their parents. The work of Kids’ Turn San Diego also helps parents learn new strategies for promoting healthy communication and how to put their children at the forefront of family decisions. When these positive relationships exists, children are more likely to do well in school, have positive peer relationships, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors.
Kids’ Turn San Diego is committed to collaborating with other Live Well San Diego partners and aims to achieve the greatest collective impact in creating and sustaining healthy, safe and thriving communities.
