There is no better time than the beginning of a new year to make a resolution to improve your health, not only your physical but financial health too! Research shows that there is a clear correlation between financial stress and poor physical health, so it is more important than ever to take control of your finances.

Encouraging and maintaining good financial health for individuals in our communities is essential to fostering a healthy and thriving economy. When it comes to getting fit and being healthy, it’s important to be financially fit too, and San Diego County Credit Union is here to help get you started.

“Financial health is especially important this year with so many in our community facing tough financial times due to closures of non-essential businesses and unemployment because of COVID-19,” said Teresa Campbell, SDCCU president, and CEO. “Providing education and resources to improve the financial future of those in our community is a top priority.”

SDCCU once again launched Financial Wellness Wednesdays in partnership with the San Diego County Library to host free financial education webinars to the San Diego community on a variety of topics aimed at improving financial health.

More than a dozen different financial wellness webinar topics are offered that include something for every age and stage of life including:

  • Building a Better Budget,
  • The Psychology of Spending,
  • 30 Ways to Trim Your Budget,
  • Teens and Money,
  • The Keys to Homeownership,
  • Rebuilding after a Financial Crisis,
  • Current Scams and How to Protect Your Finances,
  • Millennial’s Guide to Savings,
  • Elder Financial Fraud Awareness, and
  • SDCCU’s Biz Kid$ to help teach kids about money and business.

These interactive webinars usually run 30 minutes to an hour.
