The new Live Well @ Work Healthy Workplace Accelerator Program is a worksite wellness assessment that helps San Diego employers create a “culture of wellness” at their worksites and build a customized wellness action plan for their organization. The goal of the program is to help employers encourage employees to make lifestyle changes that result in a healthier, happier, and more productive workforce.

The Healthy Workplace Accelerator Program is based on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s Worksite Health Scorecard. It assesses many aspects of an organization’s wellness program, including physical activity, nutrition, workplace safety, stress management, and organizational supports, among several others. The program can help you build a wellness initiative tailored specifically to your organization’s needs.

How Does it Work?

Using the Healthy Workplace Accelerator Program’s online assessment tool, see how well your organization currently supports wellness efforts through its worksite policies, systems, and environment. Then, based on your assessment, the online platform provides a summary of your strengths and weaknesses, identifies gaps, and selects resources to help business owners and Human Resources staff create a personalized Healthy Workplace action plan. Many of the recommended strategies are free or low-cost to implement, to help smaller and under-resourced organizations create an effective and enjoyable health promotion program.

TAKE ACTION AND GET RECOGNIZED

After completing the initial assessment, your organization will receive a badge to showcase your wellness efforts.  The program will track your progress as your organization implements new action steps and strategies, moving your recognition badge towards “Influencer” status, the highest level of recognition.

COLLABORATE

Participants in the Healthy Workplace Accelerator Program can access monthly networking meetings, receive technical assistance, and connect with a network of community wellness providers.
