SDCCU Wants to Help You Prioritize Your Financial Health

Jazmin Garcia, Community Relations Officer, San Diego County Credit Union

There is no better time than the New Year to get on track with your financial goals! SDCCU encourages you to evaluate your overall health, both physically and financially, and set a plan to make small changes that will help improve your overall heath. We are passionate about engaging in efforts that support a thriving economy to ensure members of the community enjoy the highest quality of life, in addition to the overall health and wellness of our community. Financial health is just as important as physical health—primarily because the two are closely correlated as research shows financial stress can have a serious impact on a person's physical health.

As a community leader and with the financial uncertainty many faced during the pandemic, SDCCU has focused on delivering complimentary financial wellness webinars to the community. The demand for this information has remained steady, and SDCCU will continue webinars throughout 2022. Financial wellness topics include: 6 Steps to Create a Personal Budget, Understanding Your Spending & Financial Behaviors, Simple Ways to Slash Spending, The Keys to Homeownership and Current Scams and How to Protect Your Finances, to name a few. Last year, nearly 300 webinars were delivered to over 4,500 attendees.  The webinars are open to the public and anyone can register at sdccu.com/fww. The webinars are complemented with regular blogs, social media posts and press releases alerting the public of current scams and other information relevant to financial health.

Eliminating financial stress and elevating financial stability can result in an overall increased sense of happiness and well-being. This can be attained by staying organized, evaluating your current finances, setting a plan and taking advantage of resources available to you. Whether you are reevaluating your budget, increasing your savings, creating an emergency fund or eliminating debt, SDCCU has resources to help guide you towards reaching your financial goals and bettering your financial health.
