The North San Diego Business Chamber has a Health Advisory Council that serves as the front line to educate North County San Diego businesses about health issues in the region that impact local communities and workforce productivity. Throughout the year the Council acts as a proactive group taking action to educate the community and combat health challenges.
San Diego Blood Bank must collect hundreds of blood components each day to meet the needs of local patients who are battling life-threatening blood disorders like aplastic anemia, sickle cell anemia and leukemia, as well as those who need blood during trauma situations.
Realizing this is a critical issue Chamber members decided to take action and partner with the San Diego Blood Bank to host a blood drive at the Chamber office in support of the Live Well San Diego vision.
On February 11th, 2019 the North San Diego Business Chamber almost doubled their goal of blood donations finishing the day with 36 total units donated benefiting the lives of 72 people in need.
