SANDAG iCommute Wants You to Take the Pledge to Bike Anywhere

Allison Ratzlaff, Communications and PR Coordinator, Brown Marketing for SANDAG

Join thousands of San Diegans throughout the region to celebrate SANDAG Bike Anywhere Week, May 16-22. With more than 1,644 miles of bikeways in the region, biking gets you where you need to go.

Bike here, bike there, bike anywhere!

GO by BIKE to work, school, the store, the beach, or just around your neighborhood during Bike Anywhere Week. Replace a car trip with a bike ride, enjoy the outdoors, and include the kids to make fun and healthy family memories. Explore your community and discover why the San Diego region is one of the best places in the country to GO by BIKE.

“I’m thrilled to see our annual event adapt with self-guided and virtual options this year so San Diegans can still enjoy a fun event while being safe,” said Jay Faught, SANDAG iCommute Program Manager. “This countywide event aims to remind us that riding a bike is a viable transportation option, not only for work but also to run errands.”

Riding a bike has been proven to improve your mood, promote positive mental health, help you sleep better, improve your memory, improve creative thinking, and promote feelings of calmness and wellbeing. Let’s face it…these are important factors for our overall health, especially with all the life changes we’ve endured over the past year.

Take the pledge, pick up your free t-shirt, find a self-guided activity, or join a virtual event. Log your bike trips in Love to Ride throughout Bike Anywhere Week for more chances to win!
