Participants in Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center's Building Sustainable Communities - Youth Leadership Program worked hard over the summer to implement a community build project at First Christian Church in National City. 

Over the course of their journey this past year, the youth leaders have completed a Sustainable Urban Agriculture semester with Olivewood, a Community ARTS Design Challenge with  A Reason to Survive (ARTS), and the youth leadership program with insight provided by other organizations, including Project New Village, San Diego Food System Alliance, and UC San Diego's Center for Community Health, as well as Olivewood's own inspiring educators. The year ended with a final community listening session and culminating build project.
