Envision a beautiful day in San Diego. Visualize yourself walking or running along a scenic course, feeling the energy in your body, as you celebrate your achievement among friends and neighbors. Now, imagine that you’ve also raised money for local nonprofits, like United Way of San Diego or Feeding San Diego.
Everywon, an up-and-coming Live Well San Diego Recognized Partner, is a new community improvement organization that raises money for local causes through team-based events. The inaugural Everywon San Diego 5K will take place on December 11, 2016. The 5K covers downtown San Diego through the Gaslamp District and South Embarcadero along the waterfront, both areas providing ample opportunities to enjoy San Diego's beauty.
Everywon is a community improvement fundraising platform that supports multiple causes in San Diego, across seven vital social purpose categories, including Animals, Arts, Community, Education, Environment, Health and Youth. Unlike other races, Everywon has cause fundraising as its primary purpose. Each participant pledges to raise at least $100 and with turnkey technology from the Everywon fundraising platform, it’s easy for runners to invite friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to support them through a personalized fundraising page. One hundred percent of funds raised stay right here in San Diego, aiding the race’s official local causes.
The benefits of movement and physical activity for creating a better quality of life are well known. By inviting San Diegans to participate in running races, Everywon helps to increase the physical activity of residents and makes participating easy, regardless of the prior level of running experience or physical activity. In addition to the direct physical benefits of running, Everywon will be providing ongoing training and motivation through its social media and online platforms. Getting San Diegans moving is what Everywon is all about.
Participating in the Everywon San Diego 5K helps to facilitate stronger social and community ties and further enhances connection to the local community. Through the commitment to fundraising for local causes, participants can feel good knowing that they are helping to create local neighborhoods that are safe to live, work and play.
“I have always believed in the power of movement to transform lives,” said Tom Huston, the Founder and CEO of Everywon, Inc. “Only as a team can we truly succeed. I am excited to bring the Everywon concept to San Diego, which already has a great health and fitness oriented culture.”
