Residents in the City of Escondido had the opportunity to learn about heart health and get to know their local firefighters today during the Love Your Heart event. Firefighters volunteering their time in the community were found at several locations around the city including the Park Ave Community Center, the Escondido Library, and Northgate Gonzalez Market. From students to retired senior volunteers, Escondido Fire came out in full force to support the event. When asked why they participated in Love Your Heart, an overwhelming number said they valued getting out and getting to know their community.
“Educating the community is so important,” says Firefighter Brad Bihun. “On a regular basis, we see a lot of people who just don’t have the right information.”
In just one day, Love Your Heart is empowering hundreds of Escondido residents with the right information to support long, heathy lives. To find a Love Your Heart site in your community, visit www.loveyourheartsd.org.
