The Fallbrook Library was buzzing today as residents received free blood pressure screenings as part of the County-wide Love Your Heart Campaign. Love Your Heart signs appeared throughout the library to promote the event and a large table station sat right in front of the entrance, making it hard to pass up the opportunity for a free screening…and many had good reason not to.
“I am a cancer survivor. I heard on the news that more women die of heart disease than cancer and it was really hard to believe,” Mary Sue McDaniel explained. She said that she and her husband had been trying to eat healthy after his heart attack but after realizing that she could be at risk as well, she became even more dedicated to keeping her heart healthy. McDaniel gets regular screenings each time she visits her doctor and welcomed the opportunity to get screened in-between visits.
From the border all the way up to Fallbrook, there are blood pressure screening sites all over San Diego County. Visit the Love Your Heart website to find a screening site near you!
