The Feeling Fit Club is a free functional fitness program for older adults that is an easy and comfortable first step individuals can take toward a healthier, more active lifestyle.
Supported by numerous Live Well San Diego partners countywide, including the Gary & Mary West Foundation and Jewish Family Service of San Diego, the program focuses on aerobic endurance, strength, flexibility and balance to help seniors maintain independence. While intended for adults 50 years and older, activities are designed for participants of all ages and are structured in such a way that individuals can participate and enjoy the benefits of exercise in-person at a local community site or from the comfort of their own homes.
The County of San Diego’s Aging & Independence Services, which facilitates the exercise program, is excited to announce the launch of its fourth edition this year, available three times a day — 8:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 4:00 PM — on local government access channels (Cox-Channel 19 or 24; Spectrum-Channel 24 or 85; AT&T U-Verse-Channel 99). Individuals without cable who are interested in participating in the Feeling Fit Club are encouraged to call (858) 495-5998 to request a FREE DVD. For seniors interested in participating in-person, classes are available from trained instructors throughout the county.
