AMR provides lifesaving Emergency Medical Services to the community everyday. However, this year, AMR made a concentrated effort to reach out to youth, and partnered to run extensive outreach and education programs in schools throughout San Diego County.
Partnering with local fire departments, AMR helped train thousands of middle school students in Solana Beach, Encinitas, Coronado and the City of San Diego how to save lives through CPR and AED education.
AMR also had a water safety campaign, where emergency responders visited ten preschools and kindergartens, reaching over 1000 students, to teach them about pool and swimming safety. Students got to try on life jackets and learned what to do if an incident does occur.
AMR also emphasizes the importance of mentoring the next generation of emergency responders, and took part in multiple career-day events. In addition to learning first aid, students also leared about the possibility of a rewarding career in Emergency Medical Services.
To highlight lifelong safety, AMR participated in a series of "Baby Boot Camps" at MCAS Miramar. These intensive day classes for expecting Marine families help prepare them to keep babies safe.
All of AMR's outreach and education program have been offered all over the county and have been translated into several languages.
