A new “one-stop shop” webpage for public health-related materials and resources for the general public is now available. The County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency Public Health Services (PHS) Division has created a single webpage entitled “PHS Materials/Resources, Including Those in Multiple Languages” that provides hundreds of links to public health materials and resources currently listed on other Public Health Services webpages or links to those provided by the State or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PHS is increasing the availability of materials in different languages beyond English, especially the five most spoken languages in San Diego County. These languages include Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese, and Arabic.
“This is a great asset to have so many public health resources in several languages, all in one location,” said Dr. Wilma Wooten, County Public Health Officer. “With over 400,000 individuals speaking a language other than English at home in San Diego County, this webpage helps us better meet the needs of our diverse communities, as well as support the County’s commitment to valuing diversity and inclusion.”
For additional information, including reports, regional data, maps, and health equity data, please visit the County’s Community Health Statistics Unit webpage.
Both webpages support the County’s Diversity and Inclusion vision and goals, as well as Live Well San Diego, the County’s vision for a region that is Building Better Health, Living Safely, and Thriving.
