Celebrate Everyday Heroes at the Live Well San Diego 5K

The San Diego Blood Bank and the County of San Diego are joining forces once again to host the fifth annual Live Well San Diego 5K and Kids 1-Mile Fun Run, presented by San Diego County Credit Union on Sunday, July 29 at Waterfront Park.

This year’s event will celebrate Everyday Heroes – those who help others through their work, volunteerism and relationships. There’s an Everyday Hero in each of us. As Everyday Heroes, participants will enjoy a beautiful, family and pet-friendly day along the bay, a new course along scenic Harbor Drive, a new Kids 1-Mile Fun Run, interactive post-event expo with fun for all ages, and a chance to don your very own superhero cape!

Benefitting the lifesaving work of the San Diego Blood Bank, this event also supports the Live Well San Diego vision of a San Diego region that is building better health, living safely and thriving.

“The San Diego Blood Bank is grateful for its partnership with the County of San Diego,” said Dr. David Wellis, CEO of the San Diego Blood Bank. “Our shared vision for a healthy San Diego gives us an opportunity to create a unique experience for the whole family.”

After the race, the public is invited to for an afternoon of baseball as the San Diego Padres face the Diamondbacks at 1:10pm. Specially discounted tickets are available with promo code LWSD5K and include a donation back to the San Diego Blood Bank. The Padres are a valued Live Well San Diego Recognized Partner and long-time supporters of the San Diego Blood Bank.

Registration is available now at LiveWellSD5K.com. Please note registration fees increase on May 15, 2018.
