October 21, 2014 marked the annual Live Well San Diego update
presented to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, including the
Year 4 Annual Report summarizing collective efforts and impacts of
the County and its partners in creating healthy and safe communities
during fiscal year 2013-2014. The Board also adopted the third and
final component of the long term initiative – Thriving – which focuses
on cultivating opportunities for all people and communities to grow,
connect and enjoy the highest quality of life.
Following
the formal Board presentation, Live Well San Diego partners and
County departments joined together to host the Live Well San
Diego Wellness Fair and Partner Showcase on the West Lawn of the
County Administration Center’s Waterfront Park. The Expo celebrated
work done collaboratively over the past year to promote healthy, safe
and thriving communities. Live Well San Diego partners
represented all sectors – from government, to business, to schools, to
faith-based and community organizations – all working toward common
goals to improve the health, safety and well-being of the
region.
The Expo included “Live Well San Diego in
Action” exhibitor tables representing formally recognized Live Well
San Diego partners and County departments. A full schedule of
exercise classes, safety presentations and healthy cooking demos kept
guests active and entertained throughout the afternoon.
It was a
great day for living well in San Diego County indeed!
