There’s a lot to celebrate at Olivewood Gardens this Fall! Join the
Garden on Saturday October 25, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. to
take part in fun harvest activities for the whole family, focused on
health in National City. “A Happy Healthy Harvest” will promote
healthy eating habits among Latino families through hands-on gardening
and cooking activities, and nutrition education. Families are invited
to visit the beautiful garden for a delicious event focused on nature
and health. Healthy revisions of familiar recipes will be featured.
There will also be arts and crafts activities where children will use
recycled materials in the gardening activities. Activities will be
conducted in Spanish and English. These activities are best suited for
elementary aged children. This interactive, fun-filled event will take
place at 2525 N Ave. National City, CA 91950.
The event
will mark the official designation of Olivewood Gardens as a Live
Well San Diego community partner. They will also be
celebrating Border
Binational Health Week, promoting health and wellness to Latino
families in and around the San Diego/Tijuana region. Finally, this
event will observe National Food Day. Food Day
is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable,
