The San Diego County Board of Supervisors, along with the County of
San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, are excited announce a
unique and interactive workshop in North County facilitated by Mark
Fenton, a national expert in planning, public health and environmental
design strategies. The workshop, Healthy Transportation: The
Intersection Between Businesses, Neighborhoods and School, will
be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM at the
San Marcos Civic Center located at 3 Civic Center Drive in San
Marcos. This interactive workshop will provide city planners, traffic
engineers, school representatives, policy makers, employers and others
with the opportunity to work collaboratively to investigate
challenges, discuss solutions, and develop action steps for promoting
healthy transportation throughout North County. Participants will be
able to engage in one of three breakout sessions - Implementing
Complete Streets, Safe Routes to School or Business Transportation -
as well as connect with stakeholders working on healthy transportation
in their community.
