The San Diego County Board of Supervisors, along with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, are excited announce a unique and interactive workshop in North County facilitated by Mark Fenton, a national expert in planning, public health and environmental design strategies. The workshop, Healthy Transportation: The Intersection Between Businesses, Neighborhoods and School, will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM at the San Marcos Civic Center located at 3 Civic Center Drive in San Marcos.  This interactive workshop will provide city planners, traffic engineers, school representatives, policy makers, employers and others with the opportunity to work collaboratively to investigate challenges, discuss solutions, and develop action steps for promoting healthy transportation throughout North County.  Participants will be able to engage in one of three breakout sessions - Implementing Complete Streets, Safe Routes to School or Business Transportation - as well as connect with stakeholders working on healthy transportation in their community.
