Diabetes Research Connection (DRC) is a 501 (c)(3) Nonprofit Organization that seeks out, peer-reviews, and provides seed funding to the most promising Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) research being conducted by innovative early-career scientists across the country, providing hope to those living with the disease.

Over 200,000 children and one million adults struggle with this autoimmune disease today. Yet funding for T1D research has decreased in recent years. DRC goes where no one else is going to study T1D, incentivizing new ideas and scientific breakthroughs, investing in early-career scientists and researchers focused on innovative studies. DRC believes investing in peer-reviewed, novel research by early-career scientists has the highest potential to find ways to prevent, treat, and cure T1D.DRC goes above and beyond by partnering with local foundations, nonprofits, and community groups to provide educational outreach and raise awareness of T1D. To inspire the next generation of researchers, DRC also participates in STEAM leadership conferences and education at local schools.

DRC is fully committed to helping people with T1D and their families thrive through funding for T1D research and promoting educational opportunities that foster healthy, equitable, and resilient communities. DRC looks forward to a world where no one has to hear, “you have Type 1 Diabetes.”
