Home of Guiding Hands (HGH) is a 501 (c) 3 corporation. We were founded and incorporated by an ambitious group of community leaders in 1961 and began operations in 1967. We now serve more than 3,800 infants, adolescents and adults diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability.
For the past 52 years, HGH has been committed to providing quality community support, critical housing, and life skills training throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties. Our mission is to “improve the lives of those we serve.”
We provide a multitude of services ranging from early childhood development, respite care, adult foster services, independent living, transportation, counseling, residential services, and a tailored day program.
Throughout our programming, HGH fully embraces the philosophy of the whole person, respecting familial, cultural, and environmental influences that contribute to the unique personality characteristics and individual skills of each person.
