The Julian Union High School District (JUHSD) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on September 17, 2015 following a vote by its Board of Trustees. JUHSD services two schools with a student population of 163. JUHSD became a Live Well San Diego partner by promoting the link between student health and learning by providing a comprehensive environment that supports student wellness, healthy eating, nutrition education, and physical education and activity. To ensure the health and wellness of its students, JUHSD provides fresh, local, farm to school food through the Julian Nutrition Program, and has developed a Wellness Plan with input from staff, students and parents. To enhance student safety and wellbeing, the district collaborates with public agencies and community groups, as well as the Julian Pathways Center for Families, Schools and Community Partnerships. Moving forward, JUHSD is committed to continuing its successful programs that support students, staff and families and contribute to a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
