Storytellers of San Diego is a non-profit, public benefit corporation that promotes the art of oral storytelling and serves as a resource for storytelling enthusiasts in San Diego County through workshops, events, classes, concerts, and storytelling festivals.

Storytellers of San Diego works with a variety of community sectors including schools, healthcare (including weekly visits to the children at Rady Children’s Hospital), entertainment, for-profit and non-profit businesses to bring together diverse populations and promote cross-cultural understanding.  The stories they share and promote are closely aligned with the vision of Live Well San Diego, and often include themes such as physical and mental health, social equity, problem-solving, justice, self-sufficiency, leadership, and collaboration.

Storytellers of San Diego supports, entertains, instructs, and encourages all ages, from preschool to adult.  To support the older adult population in San Diego County, Storytellers of San Diego shares stories that foster connection in partnership with hospitals, senior centers, assisted living and memory loss centers, and support for grandparents raising grandchildren. They also host the annual San Diego Storytelling Festival which features workshops on important issues including diversity, communication, grief, and end-of-life issues.

Moving forward, Storytellers of San Diego is fully committed to help residents thrive through trained storytellers and events that foster healthy, equitable, and resilient communities.
