The mission of the Kiwanis Club is to empower communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children, while being a positive influence in communities worldwide-so that one day, all children will wake up in communities that believe in them, nurture them and provide the support they need to thrive. The Alpine Kiwanis Club is the second largest Kiwanis Club in the District and has established a reputation for excellence within Kiwanis International as one of the largest and most active clubs.
The Alpine Kiwanis club aligns with the Live Well San Diego vision by advocating for and supporting schools, students, and youth programs/clubs with scholarships, sponsorships, and supplies. In addition, the club strengthens and gives back to the community thru community projects, fundraising, volunteering, and outreach to vulnerable populations; and brings residents, providers, and people together to change the world by serving children, one child and one community at a time. The vision of Live Well San Diego is to improve the quality of life for everyone is San Diego County, and Alpine Kiwanis believes and practices this with their mission, community involvement and support.
The Alpine Kiwanis Club is not only known for their service to the children of the world, especially those living in Alpine, but also for their camaraderie and fellowship, and for the fun they have making our community a better place for everyone. The Kiwanis Club of Alpine consistently receives the HELPS Awards hosted by the Alpine Chamber of Commerce for “Organization of the Year.” Since 1990, the Alpine Kiwanis Club has donated over $850,000 to Rady Children’s Hospital and they are proud sponsors of Boy Scout Troop 105, Cub Scout Pack 105, the Granite Hills High School Key Club (located in the city of El Cajon) and the Joan MacQueen Middle School Builders Club in Alpine. The Alpine Kiwanis Club is committed to not only advancing their own mission, but also is committed to continuing to advance the Live Well San Diego vision of a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
