Bella Mente Montessori Academy joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on December 11, 2018. Chartered by the Vista Unified School District, the academy is a free TK-8 public charter school. Bella Mente’s mission is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire an education based on a quality Montessori curriculum. To promote health and wellness for their staff, students, and community, the academy strives to provide an array of programs that supports wellness, healthy eating, nutrition education, physical education/activity and ongoing wellness programs.
Bella Mente offers every student an opportunity to engage in gardening and nutrition. Additionally, Bella Mente participates in Walk/Bike to School Week, Screen Free Week, and the annual Red Ribbon Week activities to increase student awareness of healthy lifestyles, school and community connectedness, and prevention of substance abuse. Bella Mente’s collaborative partnership with Vista Teen Outreach provides nutritious food for families in need on weekends and throughout the year.
Moving forward, Bella Mente Montessori Academy is committed to continuing its successful programs that support students, families, and staff and collaborate with other Live Well San Diego partners to contribute towards a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
