Community Resource Center

Community Resource Center (CRC) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on April 11, 2015 at their 20^th Annual English Tea, a gala event in support of ending domestic violence. CRC became a Live Well San Diego partner for their commitment to support the three components of the Live Well San Diego initiative:

• Building Better Health by playing a leadership role in the North County Food Policy Council
• Living Safely by partnering with the County of San Diego and others in the region to provide safe, emergency shelter and transitional housing resources to survivors of domestic violence
• Thriving by providing employment development services for residents of the  North Coast region of  San Diego County that will allow them to achieve their highest and most engaged level of self-sufficiency

CRC was established in 1979 by a group of community and business leaders, who after seeing so many in need in the community, came together to form an organization addressing homelessness and food security issues in the community. CRC has grown from providing basic needs for families in crisis to offering a comprehensive array of programs that create paths to safety, stability, and self-sufficiency for it program participants. Many of these participants are low-income and episodically homeless households – including domestic violence victims.  CRC’s vision is one of vibrant, thriving and engaged communities where self-sufficiency exists for all. As the only provider of social services and domestic violence programs along the North Coast region of San Diego County, CRC serves more than 2,900 households annually, equating to over 11,000 individuals, including over 4,000 children.

CRC’s primary programmatic priorities include Domestic Violence Prevention and Intervention (including its Therapeutic Children’s Center), Food and Nutrition Security, CareerSource Employment Services, and Resource Navigation (Integrated Case Management).  Other services include Counseling, Asset-Building, Social Enterprise Development, and Advocacy and Education.
