Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center

The Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center became a Live Well San Diego Recognized Partner on November 11, 2017. Founded in 1945 in San Diego’s College area, the Jewish Community Center of San Diego County (JCC) quickly became a local gathering place, the hub of Jewish life & cultural destination. In the early 1980s, money was raised to build a new center in University City. Subsequent expansion in the decades following resulted in the current facility size of 97,000 square feet.

The JCC now boasts an extraordinarily wide array of programs and services: camp, preschool, youth theatre, physical education classes and leagues, health and wellness programs, a teen department, senior activities, and an award-winning Inclusion program for children with special needs. The Center is dedicated to building a community where residents can be healthy, safe and thriving.
