Mountain Health & Community Services, Inc. (Mountain Health) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on July 25, 2014. Since 1977, Mountain Health, a private, non-profit community health center organization, has provided high quality, comprehensive compassionate primary health care to the people in the communities served regardless of their ability to pay. Mountain Health serves these communities and adjoining regions with respect, dignity and cultural sensitivity as a medical home and safety net for essential health care, community and social services.
Mountain Health maintains comprehensive Federally Qualified Health Centers in Campo, Alpine, Escondido, and San Diego as well as a community center in Campo and provides a breath of clinical services including behavioral health care, immunizations, primary care from newborns to seniors, x-ray, lab services and referrals for specialty care services.
Mountain Health is a pillar throughout the communities it serves, providing a variety of annual community wellness events and programs including “Kids Olympics 2014” as part of the Mountain Empire Collaborative Health Fair, dental outreach services through the Oral Health Initiative, and yoga, Zumba and dance classes at the Mountain Empire Community Center.
Mountain Health fosters proper nutrition, especially for seniors. In collaboration with the County of San Diego, Mountain Health provides a senior nutrition program serving 19,000 meals annually including delivery to homebound seniors.
