North County African American Women's Association

The North County African American Women’s Association joined Live Well San Diego as a Recognized Partner on March 3, 2018. Since 1995, this non-profit organization has been providing a support network and promoting self-sufficiency for women and girls in North San Diego County through education, health awareness, and life skills programs.

Through their annual Gentlemen’s Gourmet and other fundraising efforts, the Association has given over $145,000 in scholarships to women seeking higher education from an academic institution, graduate school, ROP, trade school, or certificate program. They also foster a mentorship program for middle and high school girls to promote school success and the importance of leadership and community. Additionally, they host a bi-annual Women’s Conference in which hundreds of women and young girls attend a variety of workshops to further help them and their communities secure the tools necessary to thrive.

The North County African American Women’s Association has a long standing history of supporting and collaborating with community organizations located in the northernmost areas of San Diego county.  Through Live Well San Diego, it looks forward to connecting with other community groups located throughout the county to share and leverage the vast resources that each brings to the table.

Maintaining its charitable, educational and recreational objectives, the North County African American Women’s Association, through its mission, has expanded to support to all women in San Diego North County celebrating ethnic and racial pride.
