The North County LGBTQ Resource Center joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on January 26, 2018 at their annual Town Hall Meeting. Since 2011, the Resource Center has been serving the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, and questioning (LGBTQ) community of North County San Diego. The Resource Center’s goal is to enhance the physical and mental well-being of LGBTQ individuals and family members by providing accessible services at no or low cost. The Resource Center’s services include support groups for youth, seniors, military service members, HIV/AIDS testing and prevention, counseling, civil rights advocacy, classes, and workgroups. The practice of the Resource Center is to provide opportunities for LGBTQ individuals to be empowered and thrive by providing education and sharing information about their collective experiences with others. The Resource Center partners and collaborates with other service providers to enhance the experience of those who they serve and to provide Certified LGBTQI Competency training for school staff and educators, clinics, non-profit organizations, and law enforcement agencies throughout San Diego County.
The North County LGBTQ Resource Center is fully committed to the Live Well San Diego vision, and will continue its successful programs that contribute towards a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
