Resounding Joy

Resounding Joy joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on October 22, 2016. Resounding Joy’s mission is to provide therapeutic and recreational music programs to improve the social, emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing of individuals and communities.

Resounding Joy is committed to the vision of expanding awareness and increasing access to the power of music for recreational and therapeutic purposes. Since 2005, Resounding Joy’s music therapists and volunteers have provided over 85,000 children, seniors and veterans with music therapy and recreational music services through their Healing Notes, Mindful Music, Semper Sound, and Sound Minds Programs. They have also collaborated with the First 5 Commission, the San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Office of Education to engage teen parents and their young children in family bonding and school development activities through their Sound Minds program.

Resounding Joy continues to provide meaningful intergenerational civic engagement opportunities through their training of and use of volunteers of all ages for recreational and supportive music opportunities through the Joy Giver and Junior Joy Giver programs. They also work with the County’s Ombudsman Program to educate their volunteers serving in Skilled Nursing Facilities to recognize and report suspicions of Elder Abuse. 

Resounding Joy is committed to continuing to advance the Live Well San Diego vision by working to expand their current programs and continuing to facilitate positive experiences that will contribute to the overall quality of life for children, families, seniors and veterans.
