The San Diego Council on Literacy joined Live Well San Diego as a Recognized Partner on January 26, 2017. The San Diego Council on Literacy was established in 1986 with the mission to unite the community to support literacy through advocacy, partnerships, coordination and resources. The San Diego Council on Literacy produces a coordinated countywide literacy effort that is data-driven, identifies needs, increases awareness, inspires advocacy, results in partnerships, brings resources and generates service outcomes that are measureable, impactful and lasting.
The San Diego Council on Literacy’s programs provide support to a united network of 30 affiliated youth, adult and family literacy programs that annually serve 170,000 residents of all ages, at no cost.
San Diego Council on Literacy is committed to advancing the Live Well San Diego vision by continuing to enhance and strengthen community members’ literacy to support stable families.
