San Diego Futures Foundation joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on December 8, 2015. Since 1999, the San Diego Futures Foundation has worked to improve lives in San Diego County by making information technology available to underserved populations by providing technology equipment, training, support, IT outsourcing, and digital media services to nonprofit organizations, disadvantaged small businesses, low-income households, people with disabilities, and seniors.
By training youth, adults, and seniors in technology San Diego Futures Foundation Education and Training program has had a significant impact on the quality of life for many in San Diego.
San Diego Futures Foundation distributed 3,001 computers in 2015 (46,095 Grand Total since inception), of which 1,410 were donations. Computers went to 193 different nonprofit organizations and 1,125 individuals.
San Diego Futures Foundation IT Services supports the nonprofit community in San Diego allowing them to focus on their mission. San Diego Futures Foundation IT Services provided regular and reliable support to 56 nonprofit organizations in 2015.
San Diego Futures Foundation is helping the environment by responsibly recycling e-waste. In 2015 they recycled 283,186 lbs of e-waste. That is more than the weight of 4 humpback whales. They have now recycled a total of over 2.7 million lbs of e-waste making for a greener San Diego for all.
The San Diego Futures Foundation is committed to continuing to advance the Live Well San Diego vision by improving lives through technology.
