The San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on May 22, 2018. EDC serves local companies by providing assistance with expansion plans and programs to help retain business and advocating for policies that enhance the region's economic competitiveness.
As an independently funded nonprofit, EDC promotes the region, facilitates corporate expansion across diverse industry sectors and supports the talent pool that drives their success. EDC supports talent workforce development by creating programming to retain college students in San Diego, attracting master’s & Ph.D. students in high-demand industries and supporting the alignment of college/university curriculum with workforce needs.
The organization has also launched the San Diego: Life. Changing., a regional branding campaign to attract talent and investment to the region. Internally, EDC promotes physical activity within its organization by sponsoring sports leagues, marathons and wellness events for its employees.
EDC is committed to advancing the Live Well San Diego vision by pursuing inclusive economic development. It recognizes that for the region to remain competitive, proactive measures to promote economic inclusion must be taken. EDC will lead an initiative to promote economic equality for all residents by working with local employers to develop measurable targets and actionable recommendations that together create a platform for inclusive economic growth.
