United Women of East Africa Support Team

United Women of East Africa Support Team (UWEAST) was recognized as a Live Well San Diego partner on July 14, 2016.  This designation reflects the common thread between their work and the Live Well San Diego vision. 

Since 2008, UWEAST has worked to improve culturally competent health services and education to the women and families of City Heights. They were instrumental in the creation of women-only swim classes at the local YMCA and helped to expand the Halal Lunch program to several City Heights schools. In collaboration with other stakeholders, they also support policies that promote the mental health and well-being of East African boys and young men.

As a recognized Partner, United Women of East Africa Support Team will to continue to advance the Live Well San Diego vision.
