Manager at Home of Guiding Hands Helps Staff and Residents Reach Their Potential

Pamela Starmack, Marketing Manager, Home of Guiding Hands

Robert has been a part of the Home of Guiding Hands Family since 2013. He started his career as a Direct Support Professional and assumed a House Manager position for Rio Home in 2018.

Robert is an extremely dedicated and influential manager whose abilities and experience surpass the norm, which is evidenced by his well-trained staff and the quality of supports the residents of Rio Home receive daily.

He is instrumental to many, whether it be his staff or residents, in helping them realize their highest potential. Moreover, Robert has a keen sense of humor that significantly enriches his co-workers’ and residents’ lives.

Rio Home has experienced two self-quarantines since the COVID-19 pandemic started in early March of 2020. On both occasions, Robert volunteered to stay with the residents and two of his team members for 14 days – 24/7. The most recent quarantine for Rio Home was during Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Day, and Robert’s birthday.

The situation remained bearable for everyone because of Robert’s impressive leadership. He spoke daily to concerned family members, making short videos to send to them to help his clients stay in touch with family and the outside world.

Robert’s strength as a manager continues to shine in the positive relationships he builds and his ability to resolve any situation.
