Alzheimer's Association

The Alzheimer's Association joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on August 15, 2018. The Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research. The Alzheimer's Association mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

The Association provides care and support for all those affected by Alzheimer's and other dementias via online, over-the-phone, and in-person education programs, support groups, and workshops. Their 24/7 Helpline offers Master’s level clinician support in over 200 languages.

As the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer's research, the Association is committed to advancing vital research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure. Since 1993 the Association has invested over $19.3M in San Diego-based research.

The Association is the leading voice for Alzheimer's disease advocacy, fighting for critical Alzheimer’s research and care initiatives at the state and federal level. One of their biggest accomplishments has been the recent passing of the BOLD Act, in partnership with Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which establishes a national public health infrastructure to address the Alzheimer’s disease crisis.

The Alzheimer's Association continues to be a leader in the San Diego region and strives to uphold the Live Well San Diego vision of a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
