APACE was founded in October 2013 by County employees and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in November 2014. APACE aims to be a dynamic and valuable Employee Resource Group (ERG) of the County of San Diego focused and since inception has hosted or co-hosted more than 50 events to support County employees and the San Diego community.

APACE efforts include workshops to foster professional development (e.g., Skill Building, Interview Readiness, Administrative Analyst), special events to increase cultural awareness (e.g., Annual Asian Pacific Heritage Month, Multicultural Book Club and Movie Nights, Museum Tours) and empower members to be engaged with and volunteer in the community (e.g., volunteer opportunities with Feeding San Diego and Serving Seniors).

Additionally, APACE supports and promotes County initiatives, such as Diversity & Inclusion and participates in local elections and Homeless Point in Time Count.
