The Bonsall Unified School District (BUSD) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on September 15, 2015. BUSD supports the link between student and staff well-being and learning by providing a comprehensive environment that promotes wellness, healthy eating, nutrition education, physical education and activity. BUSD provides programs and services that ensure their schools have the resources needed for teaching, learning, and well-being for their nearly 2,300 students. Through the use of 21st century learning and assessment strategies, BUSD focuses on helping students develop cognitively, physically and emotionally.
To promote health and wellness, the district has increased the availability and consumption of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains while reducing fat, sugar and salt on their menu. To enhance and ensure student safety, BUSD collaborates with public agencies and community groups. Moving forward, BUSD is committed to continuing its successful programs that contribute towards a healthy, safe, and thriving community.
