Café Merlot joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on August 25, 2015. As a restaurant, cooking school and micro-garden, Café Merlot has a unique ability to influence the health of its customers by not only providing healthy menu items, but by teaching the community at large about sustainability and the art and science of food. Café Merlot also recognizes that water is a precious resource in San Diego County, and strives to practice green, water saving techniques whenever possible.
Café Merlot restaurant staff share their knowledge about food systems and healthy habits to local schools and Senior Centers in order to help them build their own gardens and use the produce in their cafeterias.
Café Merlot is committed to continuing its efforts that contribute to a healthy, safe, and thriving community, and looks forward to continuing to find ways to align their work with the Live Well San Diego vision.
