Circulate San Diego

Circulate San Diego joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on January 24, 2017. Circulate San Diego became a Live Well San Diego partner by improving pedestrian and bicycle safety through programs like Safe Routes to School and Vision Zero. Further, they encourage residents to be physically active through the development of Urban Trail Plans and Active Transportation Plans for local cities, by advocating for convenient and affordable public transportation that connects residents to jobs, schools, parks, and healthy food choices. They also encourage local governments to invest in safer infrastructure for walking and biking, and by promoting policies that will result in Transit Oriented Development and other more environmentally sustainable approaches to growing the San Diego County region.

Circulate San Diego is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2014 through the merger of WalkSanDiego and Move San Diego. Their mission is to create excellent mobility choices and vibrant, healthy neighborhoods.

Circulate San Diego is committed to continuing to advance Live Well San Diego into the future, and is embracing strategies of this initiative in ways illustrated here:

  • Supporting Positive Choices by encouraging people to be physically active by walking and biking
  • Pursuing Policy and Environmental Change by advocating local governments prioritize funding safety improvements for walking and biking
  • In other ways by helping local governments create planning documents such as Comprehensive Active Transportation Strategies that support more active life styles
