Circulate San Diego joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on January 24, 2017. Circulate San Diego became a Live Well San Diego partner by improving pedestrian and bicycle safety through programs like Safe Routes to School and Vision Zero. Further, they encourage residents to be physically active through the development of Urban Trail Plans and Active Transportation Plans for local cities, by advocating for convenient and affordable public transportation that connects residents to jobs, schools, parks, and healthy food choices. They also encourage local governments to invest in safer infrastructure for walking and biking, and by promoting policies that will result in Transit Oriented Development and other more environmentally sustainable approaches to growing the San Diego County region.
Circulate San Diego is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2014 through the merger of WalkSanDiego and Move San Diego. Their mission is to create excellent mobility choices and vibrant, healthy neighborhoods.
