Daily Harvest Express

Daily Harvest Express’ vision is to enable both local agriculture and our community to thrive together through their mutual connection… healthy, locally grown produce. Their mission is to increase the consumption and accessibility of locally grown food within the community, improving the health and well-being of our farmers, artisans and people in San Diego County. 

Daily Harvest Express actively reaches out to employers to bring wellness into the workplace through fresh fruit for the break room, healthy cooking demonstrations with local chefs, their farm box delivery program and mobile farm stands.  Daily Harvest Express also helps empower people to make healthier choices about the food they eat through education such as weekly emails with nutritional information and recipes. To make sure their own employees can make healthy choices, Daily Harvest Express gives a free box of fresh produce to each employee every week.

Their unique mobile farm stand started as a pilot program in 2014 for the County of San Diego employees, which is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.  It expanded from one location to several, and in order to accommodate the growth the concept of the mobile farm stand began. In 2015, Daily Harvest Express received a USDA Local Food Promotion Program grant to expand our mobile farm stands.  As a result, of this generous grant, Daily Harvest Express was able to move into a larger location with a large cooler space and acquired two box trucks to serve as mobile farm stands. This helped them expand their reach and further supports Live Well San Diego’s vision for healthy, safe and thriving communities.
