MAAC joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on April 26, 2018. This non-profit organization has been serving San Diego County since 1965, with their mission of maximizing self-sufficiency with families and individuals through high-quality programs and advocacy in our communities. From Fallbrook to San Ysidro, and from the Imperial County line to the beaches, MAAC provides services to local families in need through five core pathways: advocacy & leadership development, education, economic development, health & well-being, and housing. They proudly tailor their services to each individual who walks through their doors.
MAAC services have impacted San Diego in significant ways. Each year, the organization serves over 2,000 children, from birth to age five, at early child education development centers across North San Diego County through a continuum of education programs that support social, emotional and physical health. MAAC Community Charter School in Chula Vista serves nearly 500 high school students annually and uses project-based learning while moving students through a rigorous academic curriculum and developing their leadership skills.
MAAC also provides nearly 1,000 homes in affordable housing communities throughout the county and two recovery homes for residents overcoming substance addiction. Thousands more participate in MAAC’s work readiness and job training programs, benefit from its food bank services, and seek out its energy assistance and weatherization programs. Through its comprehensive array of offerings, MAAC supports Live Well San Diego’s vision for healthy, safe and thriving communities.
