Neighborhood Healthcare

Neighborhood Healthcare joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on June 10, 2015.  Neighborhood Healthcare is a private, non-profit community health organization that proudly serves over 67,000 community members residing in San Diego and Riverside Counties.  Since its establishment in 1969 as an all-volunteer neighborhood clinic, the award winning organization has grown to become a ten-site center guided by the unchanging mission of providing quality healthcare and promoting wellness to everyone in the community, especially to those most in need.  Neighborhood Healthcare was recently profiled nationally for providing more than 45 years of access to affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved adults and children in San Diego and Riverside Counties.  

Each year, Neighborhood Healthcare provides approximately 240,000 medical, dental and behavioral health visits to those who face traditional as well as non-traditional barriers to care, including special populations such as the uninsured, underinsured, farm workers, homeless and refugees.  A beacon of hope for those who cannot advocate for themselves, Neighborhood Healthcare provides affordable integrated primary medical care regardless of an individual’s ability to pay.       

Neighborhood Healthcare became a recognized partner because they actively promote and support Live Well San Diego programs and policies that encourage people to make positive choices and improve their lives in Live Well San Diego priority areas, including physical activity; nutrition; tobacco use/exposure prevention; injury and violence prevention; health screenings and fairs; mental health and suicide prevention; alcohol and drug abuse prevention; and emergency preparedness.
