San Diego Gas & Electric

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on February 26, 2015.  SDG&E became a Live Well San Diego partner by committing to programs and initiatives that contribute to a healthy, safe, and thriving San Diego County.  SDG&E recognizes that a clean environment is an important part of living well and strives to keep our air clean by reducing their carbon footprint and investing in renewable energy sources.  Recently, SDG&E celebrated the grand opening of their remodeled water-wise campus in Kearny Mesa, expected to save 4 million gallons of water annually.  The campus also includes a fitness trail for their employees, as employee wellness is another priority for SDG&E.

In addition to their efforts for a healthy, safe, and thriving community and workforce, SDG&E has a history of giving back to the community by donating to over 500 non-profit organizations in 2013 and has made a commitment to continue this annual grant program.  The majority of these organizations support underserved communities.

SDG&E has partnered with the County of San Diego on several initiatives, including the Cool Zones program which designates public air-conditioned buildings throughout the County and provides support to low-income families and seniors to be able to cool off when the weather is hot.  They also participate in the annual Love Your Heart event by offering free blood pressure screenings to their employees.

SDG&E is committed to continuing its efforts that contribute to a healthy, safe, and thriving community and finding innovative ways to align their work with the Live Well San Diego initiative.
