UCLA-bound Brittany Jasper will graduate from Morse High School this year feeling a bit less nervous and a little more confident about her future.
Brittany was among 650 graduating seniors from San Diego Unified School District high schools to participate in the first African American Post-Graduation Success Summit, an event at San Diego City College aimed at promoting success after high school and demystifying the college experience.
“There are so many great people here today, it has already opened up many doors for me and I just know people will take a lot of knowledge and networking away from this event that will put them in a great position after high school,” Brittany said.
Organized by the San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Community College District in partnership with UCSD Create and the San Diego Workforce Partnership, the daylong event teamed up students with near-peer mentors and participants from the collegiate and professional communities.
