The Arthritis Foundation/Greater San Diego Office joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on December 13, 2014. Founded in 1963, the generosity of the Greater San Diego Office in providing programs and services to more than 430,000 adults and 6,000 children battling one or more of the 174 types of arthritis has made them a welcome addition to the Live Well San Diego partner team.
Their mission of advocacy and research has led the Arthritis Foundation/Greater San Diego Office to the implementation of innovative programs promoting physical activity, such as “Walk with Ease”, which has been proven effective in increasing balance, reducing pain, and numerous other health benefits for those living with arthritis. The Greater San Diego Office develops and distributes a standardized Juvenile Arthritis patient education kit, “Power Pack”, to families with children diagnosed with a rheumatic condition. They also encourage affected families to make connections, providing multiple opportunities such as Family Weekend Camps, Overnight Children camps, and Young Adult Symposiums.
As a Live Well San Diego partner, the Arthritis Foundation/Greater San Diego Office will continue to advocate and educate for those living with arthritis, paving new roads for a better quality of life under the support of the Live Well San Diego initiative.
