Civilian, a marketing agency with a passion for social change, joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on August 29th, 2018. Civilian’s mission is to “Activate Human Potential for Good,” and we are dedicated to delivering on this commitment every day—internally with our team, in the community and with the work we do for our clients. Our issue-specific work includes promoting: mental health services (suicide prevention and stigma reduction), paint recycling, pedestrian safety, career education, teen and parent alcohol and drug education, among others.
In addition to our client work, our team participates in volunteer mentorship programs geared toward opportunity youth—people ages 16-24 who are not working or on school. There are more than 43,000 opportunity youth in San Diego County alone. Our office culture promotes healthy lifestyles from Fitness Friday to promote exercise and team building to providing access to company bicycles and healthy foods.
Our future commitments to building better health, living safely and thriving include, positively influencing our future workforce through continued growth of our mentorship program. Additionally, we are in the process of earning our B Corporation certification. This is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. Companies that earn this designation meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability, and aspire to use the power of markets to solve social and environmental problems.
