I Love A Clean San Diego joined Live Well San Diego as a recognized partner on April 23, 2016. Formed in 1954 as a not-for-profit, private 501(c) (3) charitable organization, I Love A Clean San Diego is dedicated to preserving and protecting the environment throughout San Diego County. I Love A Clean San Diego aims to foster community engagement so that San Diego is safe to live, work and play and is sustainable for future generations. For the past 60 years, I Love A Clean San Diego has advocated for the environment by awakening passion and inspiring action to empower everyone to improve the health and beauty of the natural environment.
Committed to preserving the natural beauty of the environment, I Love A Clean San Diego works in numerous ways to engage the community in clean-up efforts and environmental education campaigns. Through partnerships with corporate and government agencies, they have been able to recruit hundreds of thousands of volunteers in county-wide clean up events like the annual Creek to Bay Cleanup, Coastal Cleanup Day and the Adopt-A-Beach program. I Love A Clean San Diego has educated hundreds of thousands of children and adults about pollution prevention through environmental education assemblies and outdoor programs such as their Nearby Nature and Kids’ Ocean Day events. They have also helped to promote the Think Blue Regional campaign through pollution prevention presentations, outreach events and the management of the City of San Diego’s storm drain stenciling program which reminds San Diegans about the importance of proper trash disposal.
Moving forward, I Love A Clean San Diego will continue to champion environmental protection efforts by fostering integrative community relationships with local organizations. I Love A Clean San Diego is excited to implement lasting, positive impacts on our region, and uses the phrase “passion in action” to describe their work. I Love A Clean San Diego is committed to advancing the Live Well San Diego vision into the future as a role model for health, safety and wellbeing in our community.
