North County Health Services (NCHS) takes pride in collaborating with community partners, engaging with community members about their health, and informing them about NCHS services and programs by having a series of health fairs throughout the year.
On April 28, 2016, NCHS collaborated with the Ramona Community Library to celebrate Día de los niños/Día de los libros with a health fair. The event was a great success, with 333 Ramona residents joining in on the celebratory event.
On June 4, 2016, NCHS partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Oceanside to hold a Summer Kick-Off Event with a health fair and summer camp sign-ups. This event provided valuable resources for 234 Oceanside residents.
Health screenings at both events were available for attendees of all ages. These services included dental, blood pressure, and blood glucose screenings. Additional activities included face painting, book giveaways for all ages and reading levels, crafts, music and food. Families navigated through the booths with a “passport” to provide an opportunity to engage with the vendors. Once all booths were visited, participants were welcomed to enter the raffle with their passport for a chance to win a bike or scooter.
NCHS is proud to announce a partnership with the County of San Diego to hold a Live Well San Diego Health and Wellness Health Fair and 5K Walk/Run this October 2016. The focus of this event will be centered on Healthy Living, Safety and Thriving. NCHS will offer many different types of health screenings made possible through a grant from Henry Schein Cares. Community partners will be invited to participate by providing resources to the North County community. NCHS looks forward to a great event celebrating Live Well in North San Diego.
