Many DPPs in San Diego use the National DPP Program curriculum. This is an evidence-based and cost-effective program. It has been developed for people with prediabetes to prevent type 2 diabetes. People with prediabetes who make lifestyle changes through the DPP can cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than half.
Costs for the program are often covered by insurance providers or employers. This means little or no out-of-pocket costs for you. Talk to your employer or insurance provider to see if the program is a covered benefit for you. If not, talk to your employer or insurance provider about offering the DPP lifestyle change program as a covered benefit.
